902 Youth: Cyber is a technology and innovation program designed to prepare youth for the digital future. The program uniquely serves participants ages 13 to 15, who are guided by trained Code Coaches ages 18 to 25.

Participants explore coding, cybersecurity, app development, and emerging technologies while working on real-world projects that build both skill and confidence. At the same time, Code Coaches gain leadership experience by mentoring youth and supporting project development.

Whether you are just beginning your journey in tech or stepping into a leadership role, Cyber creates a space to learn, teach, build, and lead in a rapidly evolving digital world.

 

What You Will Gain

For Participants (Ages 13–15):

Program Overview

902 Youth: Cyber is a technology and innovation program designed to prepare youth for the digital future. The program uniquely serves participants ages 13 to 15, who are guided by trained Code Coaches ages 18 to 25.

Participants explore coding, cybersecurity, app development, and emerging technologies while working on real-world projects that build both skill and confidence. At the same time, Code Coaches gain leadership experience by mentoring youth and supporting project development.

Whether you are just beginning your journey in tech or stepping into a leadership role, Cyber creates a space to learn, teach, build, and lead in a rapidly evolving digital world.

 

What You Will Gain

For Participants (Ages 13–15):

  • Foundational coding and technology skills

  • Exposure to cybersecurity and digital safety concepts

  • Hands-on experience building simple apps or websites

  • Confidence in problem-solving and creativity

  • Early exposure to tech career pathways

For Code Coaches (Ages 18–25):

  • Leadership and mentorship experience

  • Resume-building experience in tech and education

  • Opportunities to guide and support youth development

Program Tracks and Opportunities

Participants and coaches can engage in different roles based on their interests:

  • Software Development – Learn or teach coding fundamentals and build applications

  • Cybersecurity – Explore or guide digital safety, privacy, and ethical hacking basics

  • Web and App Design – Create or support user-friendly digital experiences

  • AI and Emerging Technology (Introductory Level) – Introduce or explore future technologies

  • Code Coaching – Mentor participants, lead small groups, and support learning

  • Project Teams – Collaborate across roles on real builds for 902 Youth or community partners

Wellness Integration (8 Areas of Wellness)
This program supports holistic development through:

  • Intellectual Wellness – Learning new technologies and problem-solving

  • Occupational Wellness – Building career-ready technical skills

Who Should Join

Participants (Ages 13–15):

Code Coaches (Ages 18–25):

  • Individuals with basic to advanced tech knowledge

No prior experience is required for participants. Coaches should have a willingness to lead, learn, and support others.

Time Commitment and Structure

  • Format: Hybrid (remote with optional in-person opportunities)

  • Commitment: Approximately 5 to 10 hours per week

  • Structure: Project-based learning for participants with guided mentorship from Code Coaches

  • Leadership Component: Coaches lead sessions, support participants, and collaborate with program staff

  • Duration: Ongoing with milestone-based progression
